The Vine is a collaborative ministry between the Episcopal Churches in Erie County for youth in 6th-12th grade. We meet on the first and third Sunday of each month from September to May at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Erie. A typical meeting includes dinner, an activity and lesson, and Taize worship.
LIVING IN COMMUNITY
Love One Another
The Vine is meant to be a safe and loving community for all youth. We ask that all our members be respectful toward one another. Bullying, harassment, and violent behavior toward any member of The Vine will not be tolerated. All reports of these behaviors will be addressed by the adult leaders with the individual in question, as well as their parents. Clergy and the Bishop will be notified as determined by the situation.
Respect Your Surroundings
No matter where The Vine meets, we ask that members be respectful of their surroundings and the property of others. We ask that members of The Vine clean up after themselves. All spaces that we use should look the same, if not better than when we arrived.
Come Prepared
Bring your whole selves to each Vine meeting and event. Come prepared to worship, learn, and engage in the activities planned for the evening or the event. Come prepared to develop and strengthen your relationship with others and with God.
Limited use of cell phones and electronics
As we strive to build a community together, we ask that all members refrain from using their cell phones and other electronics during meetings and events with The Vine. We will schedule an intentional and appropriate amount of time during our events so that members may use their phones to respond to messages or post on social media. Cell phones that double as a member’s camera will be allowed with appropriate use and timing.
